Who we are
Nevill Hall Nature Spaces, a CIO registered in August 2025 (no. 1214695), works with Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and the local community to restore Nevill Hall Hospital’s historic gardens. By engaging volunteers and securing charitable funding, the organisation aims to make these spaces more accessible and useful for patients, staff, and the public, while supporting and protecting biodiversity.
NHNS aims to unlock the therapeutic benefits of these green spaces by increasing public awareness, organising activities, and supporting nature in line with recommendations from numerous reports.
Goals and Principles of Nevill Hall Nature Spaces
Recognition and Influence: NHNS is recognised by ABUHB as an independent group helping gardens management, improving landscapes, and promoting use by patients, staff, and the community.
Volunteer Facilitation: NHNS will coordinate volunteers for garden maintenance in partnership with Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) and ABUHB teams.
Charitable Funding: The group will operate as a charity to secure donations and grants for garden restoration.
Community Forum: NHNS will offer a forum for staff, patients, and the public to discuss and support green health initiatives.
How are we organised
The CIO presently has five Trustees who will make their decisions based on advice and information from an Advisory group and a number of subgroups linked to particular projects and activities. The CIO is a membership-based organisation so the trustees will be fully accountable to their members.

The organisation Advisory Group includes members and representatives of relevant organisations.
These will include ABUHB staff, Monmouthshire Council, Abergavenny Town Council, local community and nature organisations, and members with specific skills such as running the local Community Orchard and Landscape design.
